After more than 20 years, New England’s premier reggae festival experience is returning this September 6th, 7th and 8th to the Bradford Fairgrounds just off Interstate 91. The Green Mountain Reggae Festival will bring together live music fans from far and wide to create community and connection through a common love for music, healing and the arts.
The family-friendly Green Mountain Reggae Festival, a production of the Bradford-based Rooted Entertainment Solutions, will feature three days of internationally known musicians, as well as a host of local craft foods, beverages, artisans, healers and more.
“Festival goers will be able to enjoy bands and artists that have exploded in popularity over the last few years,” says Matthew Strong of the Green Mountain Reggae Festival. “It’s been a long time coming but it’s going to happen.”
An All-Star Musical Line Up
Performers include the legendary East Star All Stars, Mike Love, Mihali of Twiddle fame, Culture, The Meditations, Boston based Mighty Mystic, Coyote Island, SunDub of Brooklyn, New York. Other fan-favorites like Soul Rebel Project, The Brighton Beat, Carlton Livingston, Adriya Joy, The Joshua West Band, Vaporeyes and Soulstice will grace the multiple-stage event. DJ’s Night Nurse, Boss Roots Soundsystem and Satta Sound will keep the vibe constant throughout the event.
“The artist lineup was created for a purpose beyond just the music,” said Strong. “The goal of the festival is to foster a sense of conscious and positive vibrations that will impact everyone there, and hopefully, beyond.”
Something for Everyone
As exemplified at the Green Mountain Reggae Festival, Rooted Entertainment Solutions focuses on introducing a vast array of ethnic music to people of all ages.
“This reggae festival will create an atmosphere of love, diversity and community for all ages,” says Bessie Sandberg of Rooted Entertainment Solutions. “We will host a number of activities along with the music, including workshops for adults, a secure children’s area with arts and crafts, games and activities and a “Wellness Village” with multiple healers such as massage therapists, chiropractors, acupuncture and reiki. There will even be workshops with yoga, dance instruction and drumming.”
Together, the artists and vendors of the Green Mountain Reggae Festival will support a growing number of green initiatives that send the message of positive social change and sustainability. “The ultimate goal of The Green Mountain Reggae Festival is to become a zero-waste event,” said Strong.
